Happy FSC Friday

FSC FridayToday is FSC Friday and a great time to remember the importance of ensuring that all timber and wood based products are sustainably and legally sourced.  Not just best practice but meeting all legal requirements and more frequently these days also meeting client requirements.  There were reports in the news this week of the “big four” supermarkets commitments to sustainably sourced timber which is great as together they account for more than 70% of the UKs grocery market.  Major retailers, Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco, Waitrose, M&S and Morrisons have also joined the WWFs Save Forests campaign.  As part of their commitment they will have to ensure that all their own label products come from sustainable sources – a good reason to buy own label as well as the cost savings usually associated. Why not get involved with FSC or sign WWF’s Save Forests campaign - wwf.org.uk/forestswwf add your name to the list trying to stop illegally or unsustainably sourced wood from buying on sale in the UK which worringly it still is.
